Another Thanksgiving is upon us, and if you celebrate this North American holiday, you know the tradition of recognizing all that you are grateful for. While a lot of emphasis is put on food, hosting family and holiday decor, Thanksgiving is really a time to just give thanks.

While this year has still been filled with challenges related to the pandemic, there’s no denying that things are a little brighter than they were a year ago. But if this year has been challenging for you (financially, health-wise or otherwise), you may be struggling to focus on the positive.

If you’re looking for a little inspiration, here are some quotes on gratitude and thankfulness for you this Thanksgiving:

"We should certainly count our blessings, but we should also make our blessings count." - Neal A. Maxwell

“Strive to find things to be thankful for, and just look for the good in who you are.”- Bethany Hamilton

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” - Oprah Winfrey

"What separates privilege from entitlement is gratitude." - Brené Brown

"I am happy because I’m grateful. I choose to be grateful. That gratitude allows me to be happy." - Will Arnett

"Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some." - Charles Dickens

"When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around." - Willie Nelson

“Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity...it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” - Melody Beattie

“In ordinary life, we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.” - Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

This Thanksgiving, remember to take some time to be thankful for everything that you have. Hopefully these quotes will help inspire you to express your gratitude to those around you!
